Lunar Fountain Geneva
Lunar Fountain Geneva, March 2024
I planned this shot for a long time, tracking the orbit of the moon and waiting for the exact moment when it would align perfectly above Geneva’s iconic Jet d'Eau. A few times, I went out with my camera and tripod only to find clouds obscuring the sky or the Jet d'Eau turned off. Full moons come once a month, therefor it took me quite some time to pull it off.
Then, finally, everything came together—clear skies, the moon in its fullness, and the fountain illuminated against the night. I waited patiently as clouds drifted by, until the moment the moon stood alone in the sky, casting its glow over Lake Geneva and the city.
The Jet d'Eau is a landmark captured in countless images, a symbol of Geneva that everyone recognizes. As a photographer living here, I took it as a personal challenge to capture this iconic fountain in a way that would stand out, adding a unique perspective to something familiar. This image is the result—a blend of patience, timing, and the thrill of capturing the beauty in my own city.
